Collaboration- Key to Success
As an educator, I feel collaboration is a huge part of teaching! We can learn so much from other teachers around the world that can make our classrooms and our own practices better for the success of our students. In this digital age, collaboration is even easier! Here are some examples of ways I am trying to grow as an emerging educator.
Education Abroad
I got to experience education in a different country by traveling abroad to study schools and students in Denmark! By studying their educational system before we left we had some background knowledge and were able to really connect with students from all grade levels. Seeing their unique learning experience really opened my eyes to what we can do to engage students and promot the best learning in American classrooms. Interviewing teachers even and getting to know their perspective really helped me understand the focus of their system, how if differs from ours and where I can improve as a teacher after finding new strategies and ideas to try!
Science Experiments Book
I compiled all the resources that I used for my Discovery Room (Science) the past summers. The book included pictures and instructions for all the experiments. Copies were made available to parents and to other educators via blogging. Click the picture to take a better look.
Collaboration is essential for parents as well to ensure development of the whole student.
Reaching Out
This article was written with a professor and myself as an undergraduate. Collaborating on a lesson I created and expanding it to make it easily implemented into a classroom.
Collaborating on behalf of this article benefits teachers across the nation - giving them inspiration and ready to use lessons they can put into practice immediately.

Intriguing and Engaging
My cooperating teacher and I created this Prezi to get our students thrilled about our upcoming unit on the Scientific Method. Along with a fun presentation style (Prezi) and engaging videos our class was begging to watch it again.
We created it to get the students excited about upcoming events and to introduce what we were studying - so they would have the best chance for success.

New Teacher Niche
A website for new teachers complete with resources, examples, and forms to help get you started! I created this because the internet can be a valuable resource especially for new teachers but can be overwhelming and having all the resources in one place would be useful!
Others have offered input and advice about what would help a new teacher and that form of working together ensures the website is well rounded and not missing anything essential!
